The patented belt drive makes it possible to use the most modern, reliable and proven technologies. A powerful automotive-grade engine combined with a heavy-duty gearbox above the waterline creates a sleeker and hydrodynamically correct system below the waterline. This results in significantly lower air resistance than with conventional outboard systems.

OXE diesel outboard engines combine a number of innovations that were previously not possible with classic outboard engines from the leisure sector. Single-carbit loss and torque, load-to-speed change, crash-stop capability and low-speed control, as well as quick shifting.

All OXE diesel models meet stringent EPA Tier III, IMO Tier II and RCD standards, making them the first outboard engines in the world to meet these stringent environmental requirements. Thanks to diesel technology, OXE diesel outboard motors comply with the NATO single fuel policy that came into effect in 2015. The OXE diesel engines can operate on EN 590, ASTM D 975 No. 1 and No. 2, as well as JIS KK 2204, F54 and F75, giving users high flexibility and readily available fuel. HVO100 and other BioDiesels fuels are sustainable options that significantly reduce environmental impact.

Do I need an OXE outboard motor with a long shaft or a short shaft (tailpiece)?

Outboard shaft lengths are generally available in long or short shaft versions. Whether you need a long or short shaft outboard motor does not depend on the length of the boat, as many people think, but on the height of the transom. Below we explain the difference between short and long shaft outboard motors and answer the question "How do I determine the correct shaft length for my outboard motor?"
• A long outboard motor is suitable for boats with a high transom, usually larger than 15 inches (approximately 38 cm). A motor with a long shaft provides better performance and higher efficiency for larger boats, so it is not suitable for OXE outboard motors.
• A short shaft outboard motor, on the other hand, is used for boats with a low transom. This is usually less than 15 inches (approx. 38 cm). A short shaft has the advantage that it is much lighter and is therefore ideal for smaller boats and inflatable boats, so not suitable for OXE outboard motors.
There are also outboard motors with extra long shaft and extra long shaft for sailing boats and yachts. On these engines the length of the outboard shaft is considerably longer.
