Epiphanes Epoxy Primer
Description:
Two-component anti-corrosion primer based on epoxy resin and zinc phosphate.
Excellent adhesion to various substrates, very good corrosion resistance,
high filling power and excellent sandability.
Packaging: 750ml.
Application:
Filling primer in a two-component system on (bond) wood, polyester or anti-rust primer
in a two-component system on steel and aluminum, inside and outside, below and above the waterline.
Paintable:
After 12 hours at 18°C. Within 5 days, without intermediate sanding.

12m² per liter @ 50 µm dry film thickness

Shelf life At least 2 years from date of manufacture, if stored at a
temperature between 5° and 30° in unopened original packaging.

Processing conditions during: application and drying
Temperature minimum 12°C. - maximum 28°C.
Relative humidity minimum 50% - maximum 75%
Temperature of the substrate must be at least 3 degrees above the dew point.

General dilution Add thinner after mixing both components.
Amount partly dependent on the temperature of the product and the environment.
Application Brush - roller - spray.
Recommended film thickness per coat 80 - 200 µm wet = 40 - 100 µm dry
Application instructions Do not apply this product wet-on-wet and avoid higher layer thicknesses than
advised to prevent sagging and drying problems.
Temperature of paint, object and environment should not differ too much
deviate.

Practical efficiency The efficiency depends on the application method, conditions
during application, substrate quality and object shape, etc.
Application details
Drying times at 50 µm dry film thickness
If a subsequent coat of epoxy primer is applied within 5 days,
intermediate sanding is not necessary. After 5 days with granule P120
sand before applying a new coat.
Substrate conditions Completely free of rust, grease, dirt and other contaminants.
Remove salt and other water-soluble contaminants by rinsing thoroughly
with clean water and a pressure washer or an emulsifier.
Remove grease and oil by cleaning with water and ammonia or another suitable cleaning agent.
