PRODUCT INFORMATION
Epiphanes Copper Cruise
Copper and biocide containing high performance antifouling
Type Physically drying
Contains Copper(I)oxide
Properties A copper and biocide containing high performance antifouling use
using the latest copper release technology for optimum copper release.
Slow grinding action and hard scrubbing surface.
Application Suitable as antifouling layer for all types of wooden, steel and
polyester yachts in combination with the appropriate primer system.
Also suitable for direct application over existing well adhering hard
and self-sharpening copper-based antifoulings. Do not apply to aluminum ships.
Operation The paint layer grinds off due to the resistance during sailing, so that a
smooth underwater hull is preserved.
Suitable sailing area Fresh, brackish and salt water areas

application and drying
Temperature minimum 8°C. - maximum 30°C.
Relative humidity minimum 50% - maximum 85%
Temperature of the substrate must be at least 3 degrees above the
dew point. Temperature of paint, substrate and working environment
should not differ too much.
Processing and advice Stir well for a few minutes beforehand.
Layer the antifouling
of equal thickness to parallel to the waterline.
Keep in mind that the lanes do not meet more than three times on the same piece
may overlap. For best results, apply with a short-shaven roller / long-haired soft brush.
Recommended film thickness per coat 80-100 µm wet = 40-50 µm dry
Copper and biocide containing high performance antifouling
Processing instructions Do not apply this product wet-on-wet and avoid higher
layer thicknesses than recommended to prevent sagging and drying problems.
Ensure adequate ventilation during processing and drying of the
paint. Temperature of paint, object and environment should not vary too much
deviate from each other.
Theoretical yield 10-12 m² per liter. @ 50 µm dry film thickness
Practical efficiency The efficiency depends on the application method, conditions
during application, substrate quality and object shape, etc.
Drying times at 20°C. / 65% RH
and 50 µm dry film thickness
Recommended number of coats 2 -3 , preferably undiluted.
Underlying system structure new
Good adhering water and vapor tight underwater systems (300 µm dry film thickness) after complete drying / curing, sanding and degreasing
Single component:
Epifanes Underwater Primer - Epifanes CR Antifouling Primer
two-component
Epifanes Epoxy system + Epifanes Interimcoat
Existing antifoulings as a substrate Clean, dry, grease-free and free from fouling.
Application tips For long-lasting effective protection always apply full coats with
a close-shaven fur roller or brush. Don't roll back and forth too much.
On areas with more friction, such as the waterline, bow and rudder, a
apply an additional antifouling layer.
